When I used film I used to take an f64 approach to photography since I used expensive commercial picture editing. Since using digital the 'darkroom' editing has now become one of the most enjoyable aspects of the hobby.

Using Lightroom Photoshop or whatever software on images is really no different to the old darkroom techniques, sometimes it is necessary to make a good shot even better, even if it is only by cropping, dodging or burning, but it is as satifying as taking the picture.

Some of the images I take are with post processing in mind, some I just fix saturation and colour temperature.
But always, the taking is the most important part.
