This isn't so much a religious or gay rights issue as an example of society's dismal ability to overcome irrationality. That large numbers of people would support Davis is the bigger story here. She's irrational and wrong and tens of thousands are celebrating it!

It's interesting that, according to her, gay marriage is abominable because Leviticus 18:22 says that it is an abomination to lie like a man as you would lie with a woman.. However, her remarriage to a man she had previously divorced, when, in between those two marriages to that same man she had married (and divorced) another man, which is directly contradictory to Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (which calls such a marriage detestable to the Lord), is somehow overlooked by her. She says she's been forgiven for her previous unruly life. That's fine. But her continuing marriage to a man in direct contradiction to Deuteronomy 24:1-4 will send her straight to Hell!!!!

I agree this gal should resign. But you can't fault her for having the courage of her convictions. How rare is that these days? At least, we rarely hear about it, so I'm grateful for the coverage. I don't believe she's grandstanding, and I think society needs further debate on gay "marriage." Many, many people agree that a "fiat" by a judicial body at the Federal level is not the way to resolve a contentious issue like this.

She is a fool and should resign if she is unable to do her job. If she won't resign, she should be fired with cause. In any case, she's not worthy of our wrath. Complain about fools, don't get mad at them.

Kim Davis is a public servant and getting paid to do a job. I believe jail her was harsh, but I think the judge used that tactic to bow out of a decision.
She should have been fired since she refused to do the job she was paid to do.
And ..............if her beliefs were so great, and true, then she should have voluntarily quit!

Since when we put people in jail who swear to tell the whole truth nothing but the truth? Before marriage law was changed may defied it and no one was sent to jail! What kind of democracy and equality is this?

As stated in an American Republican friend's blog this past week.

What irks me is why certain people (e.g., elected officials, suppliers of a product like wedding cakes) just don't do their job as required by the market (ie supply marriage forms to couples, supply a cake to a wedding)? Let the people buying the product decide what is right for them within society. They are used to defending the consequences of their actions if there are any, so let them. The rest of the folk can butt out including Kim Davis. There is something absurd about how life is viewed by a Kim Davis and where accountability for consequences starts and ends for decisions. It is with the decider(s) and no one else.
She should he fired/impeached for not doing her job, because I believe that she does not get what her job is... simple!?
There are too many people like her running around in jobs ruining the notion of accountability for decisions.
