9.3 to 9.3.1 brought all kinds of problems, SLOW, CRASHES, and hold my nose on the UI. Personally I have NOT liked my iPhone since IOS 6. I used to throw my headphones on, click a couple times and music, now I have to go to the device, nav through the aweful UI to finally get music thru headphones, YUK. It is slow, the UI is un intuitive and sluggish, lots of junk apps I don't use, tons of usage data I cannot erase anymore, Every IOS the things I liked go away and useless things of horrid UI is added. give my left (insert word here) to go back to IOS-6 which I actually liked. Whether iphone or ipad ... frustrating. No will not be buying a new device after watching old device get stomped so often.

After the constant reminder to update my 4s I did. It was in my opinion a forced update, as the phone reminded me with the familiar pop up every time I went to do anything. Well I updated the software as recommended and my phone crashed. A black screen with a red charge indicator came up on my screen. I was able to restart the phone manually. Here's the real problem. I lost all pictures on my phone. Because of the manual start, Apple told me it deleted my cloud too. That's right, I had Apple connect my phone with my IPad and then to cloud. Yes, they set it up. So I had a false sense of security with my pictures. I know, I should have backed it up to a hard drive, but I know I am not alone in thinking my pics would be on the cloud. After 4 trips to Apple and many tears, my pictures are all gone. If one more person tells me they are on the cloud somewhere I will be sick. They are all gone. I now have a different cloud service and back up to another place as well. I hope this will encourage someone who reads this to still continue with another back up plan other than Apple cloud. And lastly, if my IPhone 4 can't handle an upgrade can Apple please stop reminding me to update still? Apple has been a major disappointment and is over rated.

    Apple sucks. Money hungry jackasses.

My IPad is significantly slower after installing the iOS updates 9.0 and 9.01. Apps are freezing and websites are a lot slower to connect etc. I have changed my settings as advised on another Apple tech website but this hasn't made much difference at all. I hope another update to fix this is released soon. it Is driving me mad.

  • Chris - 9 years ago

IPhone 5, slightly slower, touch screen freezes on some apps especially during app refresh from internet. Backup is not working. No data in backup or information about backup size or ability to exclude app from backup Periodic resets, lost calls, crashes. 9.01 not much better.

  • Aaron - 9 years ago

The phone lags, calls have been dropping, the downloaded music on the phone doesn't play without the internet connection. iOS 9 has made the phone completely useless. As much as I love my iPhone, I am very disappointed. Waiting for a replacement from Apple to find out if it's a hardware issue.

Updated to 9 on my 4S and iPad Air. both devices have the same problem. When typing, the screen freezes up. Spoke with tech at Apple Support and he walked me through what I hoped was the solution. Still does not work, both still have the same issue of freezing up while using the keyboard. Help Apple! This update has screwed up both of my devices!!

  • Luke - 9 years ago

My 128Gig 6+ is now quite laggy when entering apps, typing or playing games. Have tried the suggested fixes to be found around the web but to no avail. Very frustrated as apple seem to be falling further and further away from the slick, quick software experience which won me over to their products in the first place.

After installing the ios9 on my iphone5s it looks ok nothing wrong. I than did the same to my I pad air and charge it. An hour later I check my iPad Air, it just froze. The screen is upside down and the touch screen does not work at all. Try turning it off but nothing works. Continue to charge it the whole night and the next morning it's still the same. If would of know better I wouldn't even install the ios9 on my iPad. It's completely dead frozen and I just got it replace with a new one 2 months ago!!

iPhone 6+,,, Grey panel in writing area on messaging and "hey Siri" will not work.. Also significantly slower!

  • John Lindsey - 9 years ago

Using iOS 9 on iPhone 6 and apps freeze or take much longer to load. iPad Air has same problem.

  • Evan - 9 years ago

I have the 5s and upgraded to iOS9 after being on the most recent version of 8 and haven't noticed any issues with it at all. In some things its actually quicker! I also turned off every app and restarted the phone before doing the update, so that might have helped with a clean over-the-air install.

  • Joanne Barker - 9 years ago

My phone has frozen a couple of times and they have removed the Sleep Timer from the podcast app, which I used to use every single night. When I tried to set up a chat session with Apple Customer Support to try and restore it, they said it would cost me $29.99.

My iphone 6+ is way slower after 9.0 upgrade. Apps are laggy and also screen rotation is all messed up. I feel like apple is going down with their latest "improvements"

My iPhone 5s is regularly crashing on everything I use. It often restarts, freezes and closes apps. Maddening!

Many features no longer work, phone is slower, makes a "static" sound even when I'm not using it, Siri no longer works!!!! Can I go back to IOS 8???

  • Josh J, - 9 years ago

My iPad2 ran 8.4.1 just fine but is having regular freezes 5sec - 25sec, and fairly frequent app crashes, which sometimes crash and reboot the entire OS. The device is hardly usable after the upgrade. Very disappointing seeing as Apple doesn't have that many devices to test and optimize for, they should be able to get it right, but this isn't the first time I've been burned by an iOS upgrade.

  • simon - 9 years ago

my ipad 2 is now much slower. very disappointed, fix this apple or at least warn potential new upgraders that it will probably slow down their devices drastically.

  • Tarkan - 9 years ago

I got a grey panel covering my writing area in messages app. And i took a random picture of a wall then previewed it afterwards and it let me zoom in the photo almost 10 times. And my phones battery runs out quicker than ever before and not to mention sluggishness issues. Touch id is much slower. My phone is iphone 6. Btw previously i had ios 8.4 jailbroken with tons of tweaks and my phone was super awesome with no lags no issues, so whats the go with ios9??? Ios9 sucks big time. Going back to ios 8.4 with jailbreak!!!

  • Brenda - 9 years ago

Sluggish, crashes, lots of Siri issues. Hate it!

  • Andre - 9 years ago

Despite the 5c haters update took less than 10 minutes to an hour after the release without stopping or crashes. Battery usage seems fine, no lag, no wifi problems, only noticed that my banking app crashes, go figure, they don't make enough money to create a decent app. Love the new font, easier and more pleasant to read. Finally have upper and lower case keyboard. My wife upgraded her 5 and I noticed this morning that something isn't right, I haven't really taken a look, but something seems off.

  • Frank - 9 years ago

Safari crashes when I click a link to a new page.

  • Ken - 9 years ago

The ridiculous claims about longer battery life are laughable. My battery is lasting 1/2 as long as ios8.

  • Winston - 9 years ago

Applications like Facebook are freezing and then crashing. Wifi is sluggish and very slow.
    Emails and messaging is slow

  • Edyta - 9 years ago

I have a lot of problem with my phone after the update. When I'm writing, my texts are loading like 1 minute or so and before it was like a couple of second, the second is when I'm opening an app it is loading slowly everything I see is just black screen and that's for a long time... When I'm unblocking my phone it is staying on the code page and loading for it to unblock, it's very annoying, and a lot of my games doesn't work, and my Facebook didn't work on my phone but finally it works... I'm so not happy of that iOS 9

  • Charlie - 9 years ago

Beyond slowness, my use of Documents-To-Go is quite problematic. Highlighting text is VERY slow. The screen keeps shifting and moving up and down even though I'm not touching the screen. Quite annoying.

  • April - 9 years ago

After downloading on my iPad mini, my email won't load properly. It won't let you click on an Internet link. Some games won't even load anymore. Really not impressed.

  • Panagiotis Leontios - 9 years ago

Hi. I am using an iPhone 5 and unfortunately the new iOS is a little bit slower than iOS 8.

  • Anne - 9 years ago

My daughters Ipad mini (older version) crashed and now stuck on 'slide to upgrade' - guessing I'll have to restore to factory settings but not backed up so will lose all photos so we are going to wait it out and see if another option becomes available.

  • Glenn - 9 years ago

iPad Air, after the upgrade it doesn't show photos on my lightening to SD card reader. I can't transfer photos to the iPad.

  • Shannon - 9 years ago

Wifi is now greyed out and will not enable for wifi.
Blue tooth is exactly the same.

    Very frustrating Apple. Not Happy.
    Iphone 6

  • Harry - 9 years ago

Mine is slower, but more importantly, it now locks when I'm on a call with my Bluetooth headset. Used to be able to swipe right on the phone number to unmute/etc, but now I have to unlock, click the green bar at the top, then unmute. This is pretty spotty. 3 out of the dozen or so times I needed to mute/unmute my phone today, it wasn't locked. The rest of the times, Touch ID, green bar, unmute, huge pain in the butt!

  • Jayson - 9 years ago

Sluggish and drains my battery faster than before.

  • Jen - 9 years ago

Email search function not working in ios9

  • Kelly Hopkins - 9 years ago

iPhone 6s is slower & games keep freezing!!!
    Help us Apple!!!

  • Ziod - 9 years ago

    i have a iPhone 6 plus 64 GB.

i wish Apple fixed all problems and bugs in the next update (9.X)

  • Kenneth Woodall - 9 years ago

Siri doesn't perform as it did in the past, i even restoreed my iPhone 6 plus
back to factory settings,no luck. the bar graph goes across the bottom of the
screen and siri says she didn't get that, the phone vibrates and tights it

  • Doug Quinn - 9 years ago

My Iphone 6 crashed, had a lot of trouble just turning it off. Finally held the power button down for an extended time and it turned off. This is very annoying....

  • Craig M - 9 years ago

iPhone 6 crashing, battery life terrible and biggest issue is the Bluetooth no long connects correctly to my uconnect. Not impressed!!!

  • Bill hood - 9 years ago

My phone crashed . The screen is so enlarged I can not turn the phone completely off to try to reset or access any of the systems. I have a 4s. I will not update my iPad or any other device I have I. The future

  • Jon - 9 years ago

Although my iPhone 6+ is about the same, sometimes faster sometimes slower, I think it has more to do with my ISP (Time Warner) which is in the process of change and upgrades. That said, there is one annoying glitch in Safari: it continuously has to reload pages and crashes frequently. It did this in the last two Betas and apparently has a bug that hasn't been fixed. Clearing the data and website in Settings helps. But, a user shouldn't have to do that so frequently just to use Safari. That said, this is only a problem with my iPhone, not my iPad Mini Retna. ios 9 is a speed demon on it, with very little problems at all.

  • Sagar Kumar - 9 years ago

I am havin iphone5. All features are aboslutely awesome but there are lagging problems specially in typing either it is while messaging either spotlight searching
But it will definitely be well after 9.1.1
    Soo don't worry guyz

  • Kim - 9 years ago

Yes some functions are slower, but the 2 more disruptive problems are the crashing and the shorter battery life.
I have to restart my phone about every 30 mins. Not only is this time consuming in and of itself, but you have to re-enter many passwords after restarting (which takes even more time).
The shorter battery life is self explanatory.

  • Chris - 9 years ago

Email problem. If you start to compose an email and then leave the email app to view a website or anything else, when you come back to the email app, everything you wrote is erased. Not good

  • Austin - 9 years ago

Mine was slow and glitchy for a few hours then it became better than on iOS 8. It appears the indexing the new search does in the background was causing this.

  • David - 9 years ago

Phone froze the next day. Totally unresponsive, touch screen inoperative. Had to do a hard reset to get back working.

  • rohan sareen - 9 years ago

I m using iphone 6 and after updating it to ios 9 ,it is lagging very much. It always gets freezes and touch pad does not responds.

  • Medusa - 9 years ago

iPhone 5 was much slower. Trying to reply to iMessages via the notifications screen slowed it to a crawl and would freeze. Opening Mail was slow and laggy. Downgraded back to 8.4.1 and all is well again.

  • Jonathan - 9 years ago

I have the iphone 5c. Battery life appears to be stable/fine after the upgrade. It takes slightly longer to go between apps and run them it seems, and from lock screen to open. Weirdest quirk I've had is that it wants to try to take me into siri when I'm not trying to, which may be a condition of the slight lag (maybe holding the home button down too long due to longer lag response). Still a much better experience than upgrades EVER were on the 3GS when I had that (my only other comparison)

  • Linda Thompson - 9 years ago

I'm having issues with email since upgrading to IOS 9 on my iPhone 6 Plus. Some emails that were already on my phone now are blank and say they have not been downloaded from server. One included a photo in the body of the email, some had attachments, and one was my order confirmation for my new iPhone 6S Plus.

  • PhilBoogie - 9 years ago

I never install an iOS version 2 years newer than the version the iPhone came with. So iOS 9 will be the latest on my 6. Next years' iOS 10 (iOS X?) will come on my new iPhone 7 (iPhone X?).

If you install a new iOS version on a 3 year old phone you're likely to see the phone slow down a bit. Not a given, but to be expected. Sometimes they fix this halfway their upgrade cycle.

YMMV as slow/fast can be a user perception thingy.

  • Chris - 9 years ago

Same as Nathan. At first it was horrible, but after an hour or so of use and a power cycle, I have noticed a performance boost. I also have better battery life. Not much, but I see a difference. I have a 4S.

  • Nathan - 9 years ago

It was sluggish and jumpy at first, but after a power cycle it is now ok :).
Battery seems to be lasting longer even without use of the low power setting.

  • Paul - 9 years ago

It eats up my iPhone 5 battery FAST! Like 100% to 5% in 90 minutes.
