It was exposure of Vancouver from the 86 Expo that started the real estate price escalation because of foreign buyers becoming aware of our once wonderful lifestyle offered in our city. How that is something to celebrate is beyond me. Our lifestyle in this city before 86 Expo is gone forever to the densification nightmare we now have to endure, along with people no longer being able to afford a home in this city. Nothing to celebrate about the 86 Expo exposure in my mind !!!

I don't think the municipalities should be wasting money on hosting events or parties. Instead make use of the funds to improve infrastructure.
