You should leave the guy alone if he is in a relationship. If you want any chance of remaining friends with the guy you need to respect his relationship with his gf. He has already chose her over you
I've had situations like this with my husband. This is where the trust factor comes in. She clearly doesn't trust him (or you, which can be understandable if you've never met her). My husband used to require meeting my guy friends before he would be comfortable with me hanging with them when we were dating, but he never forbid me from doing it. He let me do my own thing whether he was comfortable or not because he trusted ME more than he mistrusted the guys. See if you can have a convo with the girlfriend and explain the situation a bit.
