I live in South Florida & can assure readers that the habitat they are going to is spacious and provides enrichment so they are not just standing around. They will enjoy their retirement with others of their species and have the best vet care with Zoo Miami. I hope to visit soon.

Elephants love the company of other elephants, and although i would like to see them I am glad they will be happier.

**That's what I would rather see, rhinos standing around and not elephants!!! **please note this was written with sarcasm
what is the reason for not getting a third???

I feel sad for any elephant that has to spend its life in a zoo. If they have to be away from their natural habitat they should be in a special elephant reserve.

I love the elephants so much - I spend hours sitting under the gazebo watching them and the giraffes. The zoo has until September of 2016 to secure a third elephant for the girls. Why can't they search for one to make it more comfortable for Lisa and Cita so they can stay in Norfolk. And then, why Miami?? If they need to leave the zoo here, then why can't they go to the elephant sanctuary here in the United States so they can be with so many other elephants and live out their lives together with a lot of their elephant friends in a wonderful environment. Please don't take Lisa and Cita away.

why would they NOT get another elephant. This zoo is going to lose a bunch of funding because of having no elephant. It's a big event seeing the elephants. I'm shocked they would do that. I for one go there FOR the elephants and apparently when I read this my daughter feels the same way. You guys are making a HUGE mistake in getting rid of them and turning it to a rhino exhibit. Not that I don't like rhinos but I won't go there for them.

Instead of sending them away. Why not start a fund / donation drive to pay for a support the addition of a third elephant. You know the basis of sending the elephants away is based on funding a 3rd elephant. Why not put it up to the citizens to see if the elephants should stay and that a 3rd elephant be added. At least try to keep them. Hold a funding drive over the winter. If you do not get the money needed then return the money or place it in something else for the Zoo, but at least try.

I think we should get another elephant. I love seeing them. Wouldn't that be easier to just bring another on in? Kids should be able to see, learn and appreciate these beautiful animals. What a shame.

Very sad. What is a zoo without an elephant?

I am very sad to see the elephants leave. I think we should get a third elephant. I mainly go to see the elephants.. Rhinos are OK but elephants are the best. With the circus retiring their elephants there will be no way for our children to see elephants anymore. This is so sad
