What is the hardest part of your body to fit your shape when buying trousers?

My hips, and thus my waist, are very hard to fit in pants. I'm also very high-waisted. I'm 5'2", but have long legs - go figure. So I usually end up buying regular-size pants, not petite sizes, because the rise fits better, and the inseam is not too short, as often happens with petite sizes. I can easily take up the hem myself if I need to. The rise issue - don't get me started. I'm happy that those low-rise styles seem to be less of a "thing" these days. I could never wear them; they felt and looked as though they were falling off me.

So I buy to fit my hips and rise, take the pants to my seamstress to take in the waist if necessary, and have her handle the hemming if needed as well.

I've been able to find dress pants that fit me well at Talbot's (US) for about two-three years now. I don't need to have these altered at all. I dread the day when they decide to not offer this particular cut and discontinue it! I've stocked up - black, grey, navy. Still need a nice tan/khaki pair. I do sew occasionally and would consider de-constructing one of these Talbot's pairs (when they're worn out) to make a pattern from them and make new pairs. But yes, would have to find suitable fabric too. And would have to find the time, as well...
