Is this a good idea? To have non-medical pot for sale in B.C. liquor stores?

Absolutely not. BCGEU as previously stated is looking for job security, thinly veiled around the premise of lost revenues in taxes without them. They have little to no background in the product they would be selling, their mark-up to support union wages would be astronomical, they would work squeeze out the small cultivator in favour of large commercial syndicates that guarantee quantity over quality.
The system the CPC implemented has already proved a failure with terrible quality, mouldy product, improperly stored/cured product and the BCGEU would simply go to these suppliers to stock the shelves.
The production, supply and sale of legalized Cannabis should remain in the hands of the people that have gotten the end of the prohibition era to this point. I only hope our governments, federal, provincial and municipal see that this is the best and only way to go. Keep legal Cannabis out of union hands.

I think medical marajuana should be legalized the recreational stuff is another matter. I have several friends who have been given a new lease on life. When you get a prescription from your doctor going to the liquor store to get it is ludicrous

The government just wants a piece of the pie as per usual they are not a drug store . I purchased mine in Nanaimo & when I went in we sat down in a office & went over my medical conditions & medications and then was told what they thought would be most beneficial. Are they going to do this at the BCLB.????? & are they going to make custom products. like the location in Nanaimo that make one for a young boy with MS. Who ever grows the stuff should be in control of what happens to it just like any other farmer. And I don't think that the liquor stores has the license on
on screening people. What about all of the bars, restaurants and & other places that screen people for age. Maybe as a part of the business licence there should be some kind of a course that is required. What's next a one stop shop where you can buy veggies & cough syrup.

I have used pot for 27 yrs. Now for MS. Thru my yrs I've noticed friends drinking before Pot causes more drinking. Then inability to reason. However, smoking Pot before drinking, slows the drinking. In real life Pot smokers only buy from knowledgable suppliers. Most Pot smokers drink very little. That's me, a bottle of wine a week. 3 joints a day. Selling Pot with Liquor introduces an untrained element. Keep the Local Dispenseries. Intelligent people run them. We don't need Government stepping on Small business. Don't Mix Alcohol with Pot.

In regards to B.C.G.E.U Members wanting to control the distribution of Marijuana exclusively, it is my opinion
that the Members are simply looking to ensure job security. It is a weak argument to state that liquor stores will be any safer than reputable dispensaries. Further, I would trust the advice of someone who knows their product and would question if the B.C.G.E.U Members are qualified or educated enough to keep it a safe distribution.

I can't believe the YES vote is this high. I suspect a conspiracy here. Most British Columbians want to be able to buy beer & wine in grocery/convenience stores. So why would bud be any different?

Having jacked-up government pricing will NOT decriminalize it. People will find cheaper avenues to buy their bud and Police will still be over-burdened.

Private business does a much better and efficient job without any government interference. Govt has to stay out of it.

Government liquor stores are the last place to sell marijuana. These government employees know nothing about the product. Also, having a government Union involved means a more expensive product to cover their generous wages and benefits, not to mention that when they go on strike, people will have no access to it. Then there is the money grab aspect through government involvement in the marketplace.

No, No, No to government control. They run too much of our lives already
