Why do we do systematic reviews?

    Some journals, like The Lancet, now have a requirement to conduct a SR before submitting a manuscript. And I have a feeling that this practice will become more common among medical journals.

    From The Lancet: "Authors are also invited to either report their own, up-to-date systematic review or cite a recent systematic review of other trials, putting their trial into context of the review." See the link:
