Surely by now we all know that looking for 'bargains' in 'sales' is pointless? If I want a camera body or lens I always wait until it is a discontinued model or available used in mint condition. Nothing is current for very long and there are so many people who must have the latest model and part-exchange their old stuff before they have even learned how to use it.
I don't think that these days there are any bargins to be had at any specific time of year that cannot be gotten by researching the internet at any other time - and a 'bargin' is only a 'bargin' in you actually need the item and are not purchasing just because of the price at that time!
