Have you ever been the subject of a call-in complaint from a motorist or another trucker about an on-highway incident?

Yep...happened several times often actually. I find it amusing personally.
Once with the current company, I actually had one claim I had followed her.
One with the previous company.....the moron actually was stupid enough to email the company (with a pic that was clearly taken from the driver's seat) and stated he was driving at the time. So I, being the safety concerned trucker that I am, proceeded to call up the GA state police.....and then forward the email to them (which the foreign owner so generously sent to me in the attempt to scold me for the complaint).

Once, an off duty officer ( or maybe on officer in an unmarked car on duty) called the company I work for and complimented me on my driving. When I got back and the company let me know about the compliment, I couldn't remember anything unusual that happened that day but I sure appreciated the officer taking the time.

Yes it illegedly happened to me and my wife as team drivers when driving for a company that just got taken over by xpo. Right when we were about to celebrate our six month anniversary and qualify for the "safety bonus" someone called in on us but the company did not get their info just an approximate location then told us about it two hours afterwards. Then of course they reminded us that a call in disqualified us for the safety bonus. Great timing both times... We're now O/O and have not had it happen since. Go figure, it's all about the Benjamin's!!! Companies should be required to get all info and live call the driver and if guilty they should pull over and apologize and if not work it out with the mediator while on line.

To my knowledge in the 45 + years i have been behind the wheel of a CMV I have had only one call in on me. The callers were wrong and were trying to push the blame for their act of stupidity off them selves. When I had the company ask them for their name and address they backed off and decided to rescind their complaint..
On the other hand I have called in on some really stupid drivers. Like catching a driver squirting on the ground next to his truck. I took pictures and did send them to his company. That has happened several times over the years.
I also call in to pass on kudos for a driver I see going above and beyond the normal .It works both ways.
It helps a driver to realize he is appreciated when the company tells him someone called in or E mailed them a JOB WELL DONE. So many drivers go years with no job well done or even a thanks . How many drivers today get out of their truck to help another driver having trouble tarping or backing or some other situation ? Very damned few today.

33 years of driving trucks, 18 company jobs, 12 years of being O/O, and 3 years as my own company DiGregorio Transit LLC, not ONCE did I ever have any complaints from anyone! From a old school trucker!
