The duets are a terrible idea! They don't allow the contestants to sing the song any other way than the way the seasoned singer decides which leaves them overshadowed and overwhelmed. The only thing worse has been the judging which appears to be predetermined.

The judges, or the producers who tell them who to keep, messed up. The Negrete young lady is wonderful, and polished. The hokey stick used by Mitchell and her ability to play lots of instruments, covered an immature voice; may get better, but not yet. The other weak voice going through was Stringfellow.
I felt for the contestants. Didn't they get any wardrobe advice?

I'm crying that Stephany wasn't picked. I hope she tries out for The Voice. She will be much more appreciated there than at Idol. Just my 2 cents' worth.

Actually the first 3 to go should have been Keith, Harry, and J lo... Stephany and Emily should have stayed... Mackenzie has a wennie voice (with no balls)... Stringfellow is about the same... And LaPorsha sucked doing Proud Mary..no originality to it .. Total rip off from Tina Turner... And the Fantasia duet was a couple of over weight black women with big lungs screaming... Poor job of judging... That's why it's the last season...????????

Cannot believe you let Mackenzie & Janeve through while dismissing the uber-talented Emily & Stephany. Seems crazy to everyone in my home. Man, you let a sure winner slip away in those two girls!!! While the two you put through will be among the first to be voted out. Too bad there isn't a way to fix this blooper.
