Shenhua should not be allowed to mine in this fertile area in the watershed of Australia;s biggest river system. Full stop! Koalas are a side issue, albeit an important one.

It totally amazes me how Australia continuously fails to protect one of it's major icons. This is not the first time this is happening . It sure doesn't look good from this side of the world (or any side for that matter).

I've read it Gerard and the decision is disgraceful. What makes you think that voters haven't read it? Why else would they even be interested?

What an absolutely disgraceful decision. Koalas are a National icon and as such should be protected.
