You ARE home...at home in the world...thank you for sharing your life with all of us...I admire your courage and your resolve. Keep well...que le vaya bien
The best place to live for you would be a place where you can be yourself. A place where you can be creative, happy and feel good in whatever it is you do. Fresh air, the sea, the sun, natre and animals ... plenty of good food and great people. I believe there is a place like that on earth ... :) Be happy, always !
Wish all the good luck for you to find a place that you want to call a "home". To me, a home is where I feel the happiest, secure and love. Whatever home means to you, I pray that you will find it soon. If you happen to come to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia (in Borneo Island), hope you can stay longer even though you may not shot list it to be your future home.
I don't think home is necessarily a place or a state of mind. I think home is being with loved ones whether they be family or friends. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Out of the 14 countries I've been too, I would have my top three as:
1. Cambodia (most enjoyable people in the world to be around, cheap living)
2. China (human rights problems dont affect foreigners, and its also cheap, and while China become a world leader in all areas, things will improve for its people... oh yeah, and the food!!)
3. Canada (not the best at anything, but lacks in nothing!)
Most of all, Im excited to see how your visits to SE Asia are. I assume you will be down there sometime, right?
I think the best place is New Zealand.
Greetings, brother, you brought me ancient tears remembering all places and persons and things i met when doing exatly the same thing, but a lot lot lot of years ago, starting from Brasil and making a route more or less similar yours. As I found home, roots, a "rely on" spirit, we can call it as we want, i'm sure you'll find yours. Perhaps with the same song on head, Steve Winwood's Can't Find My Way Home... Boa Sorte, Irmao.
Being one of Earth's creations, no matter where you go on this planet, you will be at home. I REALLY love how you're doing this. the fact that you're just walking around is indeed amazing. My brother and I plan on walking for a year after I go to college so I feel somewhat similar to what you feel. Except the reason for us doing this is not to find home but to become more in touch with our inner selves. our spiritual side. good luck in your quest my brother. I hope that you find happiness despite anything and everything that crosses your path.
