How ignorant is this!?!? Some people do not deserve to be parents. Let your kid learn a life lesson. "To avoid them throwing a tantrum". In the words if my beloved late grandma.. That ain't nothing an ass Whoopin won't fix!!
I don't think you should have to get the other child anything. If the parent wants to keep them from having a tantrum, then they should buy the gifts, wrap them and give them to the other child, not make it the responsibility of the guest.
