Why isn't the Journal covering the huge change in Central Hudson? While you have acknowledged that they are going to a monthly system, no where have I seen anything about the fact that meters will be read every other month, thus ensuring our bills from now on will always be playing catch up. If I wanted monthly billing, I would have signed up for that program which estimates your average use and divides it by 12. This needs to be a front page story. You have let down the public and I hope this isn't an indication of how your new publisher is operating. By the way, Central Hudson should skip the garbage about how it is to help us. If you are that bad at budgeting, you need more help than a bill every month. This sounds like a way for CH to simply stack up money. Do you really think they will underestimate?

    They're Both Overpriced

I'm concerned about this merger. I shop at both stores: Hannaford's has reasonable stock choices, good prices, most importantly they don't these these infernal customer cards (Sam Walton who started this card trend I curse daily), they have helpful clerks, manage to keep checkout lines flowing but inevitably there's some items they are either out of or don't carry. As a result I inevitably end up at Stop & Shop. If there's a merger who is in command of their stock. By far my favorite store is Adam's but I couldn't do routine shopping there.

I hope they are not closing the Rhinebeck store. I shop there weekly. There is nothing else in the Rhinebeck area that has the quality, selection and prices. The Red Hook Hannaford is too small and does not have the quality and selection of Stop and Shop. I would hate to have to cross the bridge on a weekly basis to head to Shop Rite.

Stop & Shop in Rhinebeck is a lovely store,I run in there very often to buy flowers along with groceries, movies books and gifts. Its nice not to have to go Kingston for shopping,I have been in Hannaford once and I will not go back. This is a bad idea.If it closes I will be by passing Rhinebeck.

Hannaford is overpriced and has very little selection of brands. I hate shopping there. Stop and Shop is my second go to store other than Shop Rite. I would hate to have only Hannaford in Rhinebeck.

I hope they are not closing the Rhinebeck store, there is nothing else around here that has the quality, prices, and centrally located like this stop n shop. Hannaford stinks and won't cross the road to get there. If the Rhinebeck store closes as rumor has it there will be a lot of people that will be upset.
