If someone only has one or a few tarantulas, why keep them locked up ? Here in Deep South Texas, situated next to a resaca, along the border w/ Mexico(10 mi. from us) & Gulf of America(28 mi.), tarantulas, chameleons, snakes, spiders & tarantulas commonly find their way into our homes and are usually harmless & just want a quiet corner in a closet to call home. One hardly even is aware of their presence. Snakes & field mice are really the only ones not comfortable having inside.

I occasionally handle my g rosea sling and she doesnt seem to mind. As long as tarantulas are handled with care and not too frequently then, yes its fine to handle them.
