All good skills, but there is a point you have to ask - Can it be done when it breaks down? I know how to farm on a decent level, but im not in a position or place to make that viable to live from, so that answer is good, but not available readily in the urban environ i live in now.

As for the Med skills - Former Vol. EMT and Fireman for 12 years. All good skills to have. Not ones you should debate as best, ones you should just get. Im an idiot, and I know how to deal with trauma.

Technical stuff works itself out. Either you have a knack to make it go or you dont. Lean with those that do and teach some medical stuff and farming, Both, at the base, are technical, but some parts mean more physical labor. Thats not a bad thing.

As for the other, all knowledge gained and gathered is a good thing. Its like adding a new tool to your toolbox. Sure it might only fit an application here and there, but having it when you need it, is golden.

With all that said, my choice was number one - knowing who and knowing if....

If your not sure of those around you are true, the rest means nothing, because your going to be played.

Again, like Sean, I felt that growing food would be higher, but I voted for the ability to repair things. However, being a jack of all trades, even if a master of none, would likely be the best idea for all of us. Few of us are probably going to need a surgeon, but we all are going to need to have the ability to sharpen our knives or to get our engines running, etc.

Life member, but not like I'm giving any money to Gottleib and Co. When that schlub came in, I left. I do believe being a "Jack of all Trades" will come in handy, post collapse. I'm surprised the ability to grow your own food came in so low. After a while, all the canned and other stuff will be gone, and long fought over, so having the ability to feed yourself from your own efforts will be prime. Ask anyone who is familiar with the Holidimor in Ukraine, they'll tell you food is more important than ammo, medicine, anything, except water. And not to put too fine a point on it, the basis for all civilizations AND their economies, has, and always will be, Agriculture. My suggestion is for everyone to be well rounded in all survival skills, with an emphasis on agriculture.
