A " best Linux desktops" that doesn't include Deepin is a joke.

Budgie of Solus origins, the Elementary OS and the Deepin desktop environment mentioned before definitely deserve their mentions.
I am partial to Gnome 3 myself, but I have been very impressed with the others, particularly the stylish design of Deepin.

I use Ubuntu Studio on my main computer (it comes with the Xfce desktop) and Xubuntu on my subsidiary ones. I have tried all seven of the environments mentioned in this article at some length (all on Debian-derivative distributions) and I personally have found the Xfce Desktop Environment to be the fastest, the most trouble-free, the most intuitive, and the most customizable desktop of them all. I also (and especially) like the Thunar File Manager which is Xfce's default.

On modern equipment, since I use Ubuntu, I've come to like Unity very much. But I have an older laptop with UbuntuMATE installed; it's fast, and like it very much, too. And I use XFCE and Cinnamon on other computers and like them both, especially Cinnamon.

But I could only vote for one, so chose Unity as it's my daily driver and I've developed a very efficient workflow with it. It may take more resources, but it's blazing fast on any modern box.

As Linux users, we're blessed indeed with the rich choices that Linux developers around the world have presented us with! As a former Windows user, I'm very appreciative. So when you have a chance to support your favorite project with some coin of the realm, remember how lucky we are and cough up a contribution. These folks do a great job!
