I sent a message to the Prime Minister, urging him to accept help. He replied that because our people are working so hard, that help is not needed.

Well your fire crews must be worn out.
    Fire continues to grow.
Oil prices will rise.oh ! thats a plus for people being displaced and losing their homes.
This could be the biggest fiasco in Canadian history.
Am I missing something here ?

Good points Barb. But US and Ausies would be okay and foreign personnel could work together in sectors. The country knowledge is of little use in a blazing inferno. Ground personnel usually do perimeter cuts which is labor intensive and someone to spot them would be probably be welcome. In wartime Brits used German and other foreign labor and language wasn't an obstacle for tasks they were familiar with.

Too many people on the ground is just as dangerous as too few. Flooding the area with international personnel who don't know the country, don't know the language, and don't know how we fight fires in Canada is plain stupid. It's dangerous for them and us.

You nailed JT with your assessment, Emy. I wish I have of thought of sock puppet. One video of him trying to explain himself makes me laugh. He has aides on either side of him and when he says Canadians should concentrate on giving to the Red Cross both nod in unison. I can just imagine cue cards popping up saying "Nod your heads - up and down."

I noted "I don't know" for the survey because my thoughts are that as much as it may be a great help, it could turn into 9/11 with more people than can be readily managed in Fort McMurray. I am really swayed TOWARDS our PM saying "we'd like to take you up on your offer, but we have to work out the logistics first and make sure it's viable for both sides". That has everyone keeping face, and acknowledging the generosity of the offers made.

Couldn't agree with you more Mike!! JT will never be ready for PMO b/c he's just a sock puppet for Saudis, unions, special lobbies, Muslims & media shills & lemmings. Standby for more inept Liberal lies, fraud, theft, stupidity, bribery for votes, COI, obscene tax increases, egregious DEBT, indefensible WASTE, collusion, extortion, insanity, tyranny, ANARCHY!! Stench of #LiberalLeadersh!T follows JusTurd everywhere!

Trudeaus true colours are coming out. There's no excuse for not accepting foreign help. These offers came over a week ago and more water bombers would have made a difference; isn't that obvious. And there's out-and-out lying going on. On the one hand Canadians have the fires under control and on the other hand only rain can stop it. If Trudeau can't do anything other than push-ups, joking with Obama and signing billion dollar cheque's while globe trotting on our dime then he must move aside and let someone else do the priveledged work of serving Canadians. Get the foreign aide now!
