Is a man more, or less manly, with the application of violence?
Very macho. If a man cannot wield power over others without hesitation to use violence, then he is no man. Violence is cool.
More masculine, but only where applying violence when called for by sovereign power and within lawful limits.
Neither. The capability nor inclination for application of violence is not a measure of masculinity.
Less. When a man resorts to violence, it indicates a weakness of character, diminishing his masculinity.
Less. All violence is always wrong in all cases, and doing wrong diminishes the person.
