Bill and Tom go bear hunting. Bill is wearing sneakers. Tom asks Bill "Why are you wearing those?" Bill replies "So I can run fast." Tom exclaims "You can't outrun a bear!" Bill says, "True, but with these on I can outrun you!"

I hit one with my car once in Orange County. The bear was fine, he actually ran away that morning. Thankfully no damage to my car either.

As a youth I worked in the Adirondacks for seven summers. I saw several up there during that time. They are interesting to watch in the wild.

A few years ago on Rt.44 by Pleasant Valley Ford and the TSP, a bear had traffic stopped as it crossed Rt.44
It went into the woods and traffic started to move along slowly. It was pretty big too.
