Only previous alternate Burlington Bees uniforms I've seen since 1984.

I was so saddened when I saw this on Deadspin Thursday. I was at the Bees games 7-1 and 7-2-16 for a weekend with my sister's family and a couple cousins from Detroit, to visit my mom's grave on her birthday 7-2-16. Her grave marker was finally placed the day before I arrived. I took my mom to a good dozen Bees games during the 2003-2007 seasons, until her health precluded her joining me on my visits that revolved around Bees home games and 3 in season visits I made each year (she passed 2-4-15) I was there with my sister.

I have been going to Bees games since my sister and her husband moved to Burlington when they got married in 2005. I took my God Children (sister's kids) to their first Bees games. The Bees have awesome classic uniforms since my first game. They roll out great flag themed uni's for the 4th, for at least the past 6 years (I have hundreds of pics of my my probably 60+ Bees games in my lifetime).

    These uniforms saddened me.

I get the need to do something "edgy" in Burlington. I know the team and their history well, and the economics of being the only community owned affiliated baseball team at any minor league level (as far as I know). They are in a smallish town of maybe 20,000 surrounded by much smaller towns. Kids are always the target market of minor league teams to build a future fan base, but I don't see anybody ever, desiring to pay for a replica of this jersey. We all know throwback and alternate jerseys are all about sales of said clothing and so little about anything else. Throwback jerseys have some redeeming value to the established fan base (and being a Chicagoan and Sox fan since 1972, I actually would have loved to see the Sox wear the '76 ones Chris Sale childishly went psychotic on).

    These uniforms saddened me.
