If the truth is known the dems don't want this problem solved it helps them in the election. From what I have seen the dems are the ones who did not want to regulate these big companys. The congress is controled by the dems and they have a lower approval rating than Bush, yet half the country wants Obama in the oval office. WAKE UP AMERICA

  • Josh Lewis - 16 years ago

It's apparent which candidate truly understands the magnitude of this crisis. One looks directly into the camera and states that there's work to be done without delay. The bailout will not be passed as it currently stands. It's time to commit to working together toward a solution. The other candidate stares at his lectern and unconvincingly stumbles through a statement saying that the debate should go on. What's more important? It's obvious who the American people need in a time of crisis. Someone who is willing to look them in eye and sacrifice in a time of need to get the job done.

  • Shirley - 16 years ago

McCain is doing what he's done his entire life............serve his country! Country First!

Obama, don't forget you're getting paid approx. $165K year to be a senator..........have you forgotten?

  • VC - 16 years ago

A Presdent should know how to multi-task, that's what his Vice-President is able to do with 5 children

  • Kimberly Benacquista - 16 years ago

John McCain is so very, very far superior in his wisdom and leadership characteristics than Obama. I can't believe Obama has gotten this far! Talking about "vetting" --- he never was vetted. He quite frankly repulses me. He always watching what everybody else says and does and then goes with the way the wind blows. Doesn't have an original idea in his head! He would be bad, bad and dangerous for this country!. Can't understand why people are asleep and can't see the light. This guy has nothing to offer but trouble.

  • chessdals - 16 years ago

Total STUNT - he has nothing left! But if you REALLY want the truth ask your buddy Carl Rove HE is the one driving that boat!!!!

At least this has gotten you to NOT talk about the Palins tonight - VERY dissapointed in you Greta BUT afterall this IS a REPUBLICAN BACKED NEWS STATION!!!!

  • Carlos Roman - 16 years ago

While Obama stays in Florida at his debate camp to learn foreign policy, his country called and ask if he could come in to work...I guess Obama wants to vote present on this one too.

  • The Silent Majority - 16 years ago

MCCAIN DEFINITELY BELIEVES IN COUNTRY FIRST....WHY IS OBAMA AFRAID TO GO TO WASHINGTON? IS HE AFRAID HE MIGHT BE PUT TO THE TEST TO ACTUALLY COME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT WORKS WITHOUT A WRITTEN SPEECH IN FRONT OF HIM AND SOME CONCRETE WORKABLE IDEAS MIGHT ESCAPE HIM.

  • K. O. Flodstrom - 16 years ago

Senator McCain is an elected Senator. He is being paid as a Senator. Returning to D.C. and assisting in solving this economic crisis demonstrates his leadership and commitment as a Senator and another example of why America needs John McCain to lead this great nation.

  • Janice - 16 years ago

McCain is doing what he does best - take action. There is no more important issue right now then avoiding an economic freeze. The debates and campaigns are inconsequential until this gets resolved. I am thoroughly disappointed in Obama's dismissal of the threat putting his campaign over the economic stability of the American people.

  • Karen - 16 years ago

Of course Senator McCain is putting country first. And as a comment to the person who posted with the name 'games games games'...what the heck? That debate between Palin and Biden is not until October 2. Get with the program!

  • Linda McMillan - 16 years ago

Senator McCain's choice of returning to Washington is in the best interest of our country. I am from Mississippi and live in Florida having investments in both state's.

The debate would have been interesting but as a taxpayer and investor. I appreciate our leaders giving one hundred percent of their time to this urgent matter.

  • Ginny Rockwell - 16 years ago

Senator McCain is putting the interests of Americans and Country First. Obama talks a lot of fancy talk saying the most severe crisis to ever hit our country, but then says he will not change his politicing and will plan to go ahead with debate--shame on him.....There is too much association and paper trail that will come to light for Obama, I am sure. I am so proud of John McCain and his commitment to our country and helping all Americans, not just a few select people within a political or entertainment industry.

  • gerald fowler - 16 years ago

As usal, Obama is full of it. He said this is one of the most worst time since the depression, but I'm going to campaign & if you need me call me & I'll hop of my plane with the Presidental seal & I will fly back to dc & vote.. what b.s

  • Chris - 16 years ago

It's obvious who is taking this crisis seriously. Obama is an even bigger joke than Gore and Kerry combined!

  • Valerie Watson - 16 years ago

McCain loves this country and he is putting it before his own desires. That is a true leader.

It's like this....the barn is on fire and McCain has joined the water bucket line to help throw water on the fire. Obama is still inside primping to make himself look good.

  • Jeff - 16 years ago

WHAT IN THE HELL ARE MCCAIN OR OBAMA GOING TO DO IN WASHINGTON OTHER THAN BRING THE CAMPAIGN TO A SITUATION WHICH DOES NOT NEED IT. NEITHER MCCAIN OR OBAMA ARE ON THE COMMITTEES WHICH WILL STRUCTURE THE BILL. PUT THE COUNTRY FIRST MY BUTT, HE IS PUTTING HIM SELF FIRST.

  • David Frankland - 16 years ago

One of the most important documents in our country's history begins with “we the people” not “we the media”, not “we the subset of Hollywood actors and actresses who feel they can convince us not to think for ourselves. Fortunately John McCain remembers that he was elected to put country first and that this country is based on the basic premise "we the people".

  • Jean Foss - 16 years ago

Well we know where and what is important to Obama. His campain comes first not the people or our country. Why would anyone vote for him?? When the people need help he wants to have a debate and make speachs. McCain take the bull by the horns and hits it head on. We need to put out smoke before they become fires. Can't wait for Obama to show up or vote present. Maybe he should consult his pastor. I was a Hillary follower now I am a Mc Cain supporter..
Thanks Greta for being fair and balanced.

4 debates in 19 days? McCain's attempt to delay the Pres debate is a desperate move to try to eliminate the VP debate. If this first debate gets delayed there won't be enough time for them all and the VP debate will get canceled.

  • terri - 16 years ago

McCain is in action. Obama is full of WIND.

  • Patricia Ferguson - 16 years ago

Obviously, America needs a strong leader. Senator McCain, once again, is demonstrating putting his country first. We don't need another "politician" to be in the oval office----WE NEED A LEADER.

Oh, Senator Obama is into doing his 'thing'. He, obviously, puts the importance of his speech- making on a par with focusing on America's crisis. How sad. He doesn't want to yield the spotlight, even for only a few days.

  • betty - 16 years ago

the people of this country need to know about the bailout and they need everyone in washington only OBaMA is trying to make this a political event and make Mccain look bad but he only makes himself look like a media monger, i was for obama but after the stunt he pulled today mccain will get my vote, obama trys to turn everything against mccain . well we dont need a debate we need someone in washington looking out for WE THE PEOPLE...... not a well im the better one i want a debate well obama needs to debate with the ceos of the companys that donated so much to himand then say why are we broke

  • kmb - 16 years ago

I don't really care for the maverick, but the socialist is WAY worse! I pray for the sake of our country that B. Hussein loses by a landslide! Otherwise if it's close then he's back four years from now and we have to go throught this all over again! Anyone stupid enough to vote for him deserves what comes--but the rest of us will have to suffer for your bad decision!

I'm going Republican because of the platform of life! And I love that McCain chose Palin!! You see how hypocritical liberals are when they hate the first woman Vice President!

  • Arredondo - 16 years ago

yeah let's not forget that mccain is still a SENATOR no matter what and he's only doing his job...and all obama could say was "call me if you need me"...mccain has shown great leadership by immediately voluteering to return to washington w/o the president having to ask him

  • Lynn - 16 years ago

Senator Obama, by saying that "he will be available" to the Congress "if needed", is characterizing himself as nonessential to the process of governing. Does he have nothing to offer in this crisis?
I admire Senator McCain's choice to roll up his sleeves and tackle the MOST IMPORTANT TASK AT HAND by participating in the resolution of this CRISIS. The best energy must be directed at the worst problems. A political debate is not a crisis.

  • Joy - 16 years ago

McCain is putting country first . Obama just voted present again.

  • Chip Stevens - 16 years ago

I'm sure McCain is sincere in putting our country first with this request to the Obama campaign. If this was a strategic move of the camp, he would not have come forward first. (lets all note he has stepped up before the 'President')

  • Joanne - 16 years ago

Puting his country first.. Now thats someone I can believe in, someone I can trust with our future.

  • Lanana - 16 years ago

He is simply being his true self by serving our country to the best of his ability and not seeking his own agenda of becoming President first. May the Lord God Almighty bless him and make him our new President. Oh, and God bless President Bush, also.

  • rhraptor - 16 years ago

They are going to see what they can steal.

    ooooooo baaaaaaaaaaah maaaaaaaaah

    awwwwwwwwwwwwmmmmmmmm

    get a prayer rug

anyone interested in the global poverty act? it is a slight 845 BILLION dollars!

hey AMERICA you want to fund that too?? with no REGULATION?

    Well that is Obama

  • Sharin - 16 years ago

For starters, my captcha code began 666..... :o
Second, McCain is doing his job... they BOTH best get their butts to DC and FIX this.

  • Shirley G. - 16 years ago

This crisis just reinforces my belief that there are statesmen and politicians. Senator McCain is a true statesman who is putting his country before a political campaign. Mr. Obama is proving that he is indeed a true politician. Thank God for Senator McCain.

  • Harry - 16 years ago

what will Obama say to the american people if this bail out does not go through by the end of this week and we end up being in a econmic collapse?
I want to see Obama , when we can not get money out from the banks next week. I want to watch Obama on TV when we can not buy anything with a credit card, Banks will lock up the system if things are not done by the end of this week!'
    NO JOKE!
I DON'T GIVE A FCUK ABOUT THEIR STUPID DEBATE!
They get paid for to serve as senators first!

  • Anne-Louise Bailey - 16 years ago

McCain is showing he again puts the country first rather than putting winning first.

  • Peggy - 16 years ago

McCain is definately putting the country first and doing what he is paid to do. Obama is only thinking of himself. But of course Obama is not needed just to vote "Present" again and again. Who cares if he is present? Sorry, Present is just not good enough in a crisis!!!

  • fifi - 16 years ago

    McCain is showing true leadership.

  • Dave Gonnion - 16 years ago

McCain is just showing his true colors..i.e. "Country First"..

Unfortunately, so is Obama....i.e. on with "my" agenda..

  • Lynn - 16 years ago

THis is not a political stunt. Senator McCain is being very presidential by taking quick action to resolve a crisis. He puts the country first, while Obama has always put himself and his aspirations first. Obama thinks he will solve the economical crisis, but how can he do that if he can't even mark present? It is all about self with Obama.

  • gary - 16 years ago

GIVE ME A BREAK! THIS I JUST PURE POLITCAL STUNT SO HE CAN TRY TO MOVE THE DEBATE TO THE VP DEBATE SLOT AND CANCEL SARA PALINS DEBATE BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT HER TALKING BECAUSE SHE IS A MORON!

  • vince - 16 years ago

Hey Repugs, don't get too excited; obviously a Fox News poll will tilt in favor in McBush.

  • GOP Blair - 16 years ago

It is a stunt. Its shameful. Palin is weak. He should have picked Romney. This is where Romney would have shined. I voted for McCain in 2000 and 2008 primaries. I will vote for Obama in the General Election. I don't want a drama queen for President.

  • Anne - 16 years ago

Talk about Americans having blinders on, even when the truth is very obvious, at the edge of your nose. Maybe your nose is like Pinocchio, too far away. McCain is major nervous and rightly so. He is so NOT RIGHT for the job, this job being voted on November 4. The fact that "Some" people will continue to take a chance again, as back in 2004 is totally beyond me.
WHAT AMOUNT THIS DON'T YOU GET????????????????????????

  • zeke - 16 years ago

Don't be fooled by McCain's tactic. He only did this due to the fact that the polls show Obama is more favorable when it comes to economics. McCain is only going to DC as a political ploy. There are already enough people working on the bail out and according to recent news accounts, they are close to a deal. What can McCain offer other than a photo-op? Yes the Democrats have been in office for two years, however, the GOP has been there longer and they also did nothing. Both sides have 'BLOOD' on their hands.

  • Lola - 16 years ago

What a farce- McCain is such a joke. He just continually reacts to things, he's not a real leader. He was against a bailout just two weeks ago. You all are just so used to being lied to, you don't even notice anymore. I feel so sorry for you. Especially when Obama wins in November and you still won't understand why.

  • Ella - 16 years ago

I am so proud of John McCain's decision to put his campaign on hold and to think of the citizens of the USA and put us first. I'm a senior citizen and worry if I'll have enough money to live on until I die. With John McCain and Sarah Palin in the White House taking care of all citizens I will stop worrying.

  • Lisa - 16 years ago

I look at a person's character first. John McCain has always shown he is a man of strong character and integrity. We will never all agree with every view of any other person. I want to know that the people in office are there to serve the country, that they are honest and trustworthy. People have short memories. how have we made a rock star out of a President that looked out at the world and Said "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." ? And...while I'm off topic....why does Obama have his own Logo? is the American flag not good enough for him? He scares me.

  • Mark Feis - 16 years ago

To be fair both canidates have a vision.
One man want's to be a President...and one man want's to serve Americans.

  • Jack Corwin - 16 years ago

I am a McCain supporter all the way and have been from the beginning of this campaign but I have two frieds that are sitting here with me tonight watching the news. Both were sitting on the fence between Obama and McCain and both just decided after watching McCains decission that he is the real deal not just talk and are now McCain supporters. I hope this brings more Obama worshipers to their senses.

  • Bob - 16 years ago

Just heard that McCain is going to propose delaying the election until this crisis is resolved and the Dow Jones rises above 15000. He is drafting a bill to this effect. He has the full backing of the White House on this. I hope Obama supports this in the spirit of bipartisanship.

  • Obsama Bin Biden - 16 years ago

Obsama avoided debating McCain all year! So NOW he wants to debate him when McCain wants to help the economy as a paid senator? Obsama voted "present" for every session in Congress while he was far away from D.C., that's typical of him. You leftwingers are a different kind of breed, not quite human apparently.

  • Dave Gonnion - 16 years ago

McCain is just showing his true colors..i.e. "Country First"..

Unfortunately, so is Obama....i.e. on with "my" agenda..

  • Chuck Chapman - 16 years ago

I believe that John Mccain is putting the country ahead of his ambitions to be President. Unlike Obama who would rather put his own self interests ahead of what is right for the country. It appears with him it is always me first, country whenever. The debat can be put off for a few days and rescheduled. If this debate is so important to Obama why didn't he agree to debate Senator Mccain before when asked to? It appears that he is afraid to go head to head without the use of a tele-prompter. Everyone needs to work together on this situation and get it resolved and then have the debates. COUNTRY FIRST. LAST, AND ALWAYS....

  • terri - 16 years ago

McCain is a doer. Obama is a talker. McCain is going to Washington for the people. Obama is staying in Florida, talking about a little debate that can be rescheduled. McCain is strong. Obama is weak.

  • Patrick Austin - 16 years ago

It's scary how easy Americans can be manipulated. So many on here are proudly proclaiming "Country First".

After you hear it enough times, I guess some of you follow along like sheep.

  • Cindy - 16 years ago

Obama is making such a big deal out of this one debate. he had all this time to accept one of McCain's invitations throughout this campaign. Also he is so busy studying his answer to this crisis was "don't call me unless you have too".His people will do his Senatorial job for him. It is not a matter of multitasking, it is the idea that you should do the job you are still receiving pay for.

  • Janet - 16 years ago

We do not need politicians grand standing right now, we need some very smart guys knowing what they are doing to work and this without interuptions. This is a man who says he does not know much about the economy anyway, and has Phil Graham as an advisor to prove it. The man who is probably the most influential person to get this whole thing going.

I would rather see a debate between the two candidates. That is what his job should be now.

  • Actual Solutions, not Distraction Politics - 16 years ago

This is ridiculous... where was McCain when the problems were brewing? Why aren't we asking who should be held responsible for these problems in the first place? How can McCain claim any sort of experience and expertise on the economy when he suggested that, as the head of the Commerce Committee, he invented the Blackberry? It was invented in Canada! And he voted against the bill that would have facilitated development of that kind of technology here in the US!

  • Matt Goodwin - 16 years ago

While some may say that Senator McCain is politically motivated to suspend his campaign, his history as a "Maverick" suggests otherwise. Senator McCain has shown true leadership by taking a big risk and putting his presidential bid in jeopardy, but I really believe that history will show his intentions were sincere in putting country first during a national crisis.

  • South Carolina Republican - 16 years ago

Having a two hour debate on Friday night is not going to stop discussions and voting on a bill for the economic crisis. Mccain is messing up big time!!

  • Jan - 16 years ago

Obama's response to the crisis is to put his campaign first, not the country. McCain decided to go back to Washington and work on the problem. Obama, who seems to forget who's paying his salary while he campaigns for President, says "call if you need me." This is not leadership.

  • Dottie Brokaw - 16 years ago

HE IS PUTTING THE COUNTRY BEFORE HIS OWN POLITCAL AMBITIONS UNLIKE OBAMA. dOTTIE bROKAW

  • Rose - 16 years ago

COmment back to toal stunt..... Multitasking is what we need a president to do: however, McCain nor Obama are the president yet and they are getting paid to be Senators!

  • enoelt63@yahoo.com - 16 years ago

Ditto w/Sick of Politicians. Not only do I believe McCain is looking out for the country...I think he'd do well to listen to Newt Gingrich. Newt's comments on Hannity and Colmes to see this worked out another way with less govt involvement sounds like it's worth working on. I believe the Congressman from Indiana (R) said he'd rather try something like Newt's ideas as well.

There should be hearings with Dodd, Frank, Obama, Clinton, Raines,etc...and they should be answering questions, not asking...

    MAD AS HELL

  • Rob Blount - 16 years ago

I believe that Senator McCain has got it right. Government of the People, by the People and for the People. The American people before foreign policy! All aboard the McCain Train!

  • my voice - 16 years ago

First I am incensed that Barney Franks, who has been in charge BUT BLIND EYED is speaking. He needs to resign along with Dodd. They are corrupt.
This is a two part problem. The system is made up of people - and the people are the problem. We need to do something financially - but more importantly, INVESTIGATE how we got here and who is responsible. Follow the money.

  • Judy Tucker - 16 years ago

Obama did what ordinary politicians do- put himself first. This has shown what he is really made of putting himself first instead of tackling a real problem.

  • connie - 16 years ago

I agree with the above statement. Obama is in the middle of the crisis, part of it and is trying to divert attention connecting him and other dems from the crisis by insisting on the political debate. who really cares about the debate right now anyway? the american people care about their money!!! McCain is a fixer and will be a clean up man after the Obamas of this country messing it all up!!!! Thanks Nancy Polosi and Dem Congress

  • Barbara - 16 years ago

How can anyone ever vote for Obama - He is not a leader and just an empty suit.

McCain is a true leader and puts this country first

  • ken dobin - 16 years ago

THIS IS THE REASON WE NEED MCCAIN '' COUNTRY FIRST'' OBAMA SAY'S OBAMA FIRST, OBAMA HAS NERVE EVEN RUNNING NO WAY IS HE QUALIFIED FOR COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THIS COUNTRY

  • Ray - 16 years ago

John McCain is definitely putting the country first! I heard Obama say on TV that the debate must go on! My question is why would you think for one minute that the debate is more important than this country's crisis right now? Obama needs to get over himself and anyone out there still considering voting for him better wise up! His ego is much bigger than his knowledge of what is right and wrong, what is acceptable behavior and whats not! Wise up America!!!!!!!!

  • Georgina - 16 years ago

Obama says he can walk and chew gum at the same time, but obviously he cannot be a senator and a presidential candidate at the same time. He has abandoned his paid position as a servant of the people to look out for his own best interests in seeking the presidency. He says the economic situation warrants the same kind of attention as the nation faced in the Great Depression, but he cannot stop campaigning or debating long enough to go to Washington and work to protect the financial system of the U.S. I vote to let him go walk and chew gum while Senator McCain shows, again, that he will continue to put the country and the needs of its citizens above his own needs.

  • Katherine M. Fesler - 16 years ago

McCain is doing what I think most Americans would agree with, putting America first. As he stated: I'd rather lose an election, Ameirca comes first. It is too bad more politicians don't feel that way, especially Obama!!!
A debate is not an important decision right now, and can always be scheduled later. I am a true blue American, and feel America comes first, and McCain is doing the right thing, no matter what other people feel. When you listen to Obama, it gives grave cause to think of what he thinks comes first, a debate, be serious, he isn't.

  • charles freshcoln - 16 years ago

Once again the Republicans have to take the blame and champion the repairs for another Bill Clinton screw-up!! If the Democrats would stop trying to make welfare recipients into owners of expensive homes they cannot afford, maybe the economy would not be in the toilet and hard working, taxpaying people could live with confidence we won't have to bail them out every time they attempt to live above their means. If you don't make enough money to buy a $400,000 home perhaps renting is a better option!!

  • CO - 16 years ago

McCain has honor & integrity-something NObama knows nothing about.

  • virginia soto - 16 years ago

I trust Senator McCain more than I do Senator Obama and for this reason I believe that he is putting country first.

  • donna - 16 years ago

    ditto

there is only one presidential candidate with America's best interest at heart.. why the alleged 1/2 of America can't see that is beyond me .. I have never heard so many lies out of a mans mouth - and now Biden . disgusting. serve your country, country first, that is John -

This crisis exists because of corruption on wall street/fannie/freddie/congress/senate -

McCain is spotless - he has provided leadership and warned us and to no effect due to the democratic controlled congress. America should be repulsed that the democratic party put their party before the best interests of the people.

I want them out of there.

We are being taken over from the outside -in. Wake up.

  • Eric Eaton - 16 years ago

If this were a police officer running for chief of police and there was a hostage crisis, there would be no question about the right thing to do. So why are McCain's motives being questioned for going and doing the job of a Senator?

  • christie Roman - 16 years ago

    McCain leads..Obama follows.
McCain is a doer not a talker. He is going to do his job.
And, last time I check, they were BOTH on the payroll as US Senators...It is their job!

  • Kreg - 16 years ago

McCain is being responsible and putting the country first. Obama, appears to me, to be a professional campaginer. His comments and actions continue to be me, me, me, get elected, get elected. Running for office seems to be his profession. By the way, this is the first election that I will be voting Republican in since Ronald Regan.

  • Matt - 16 years ago

Senator McCain has always placed "America First." His campaign suspension, to deal with the present financial crisis, is a continuation and reflection of the great McCain character. His service and sacrifice to the United States, as well as his well-known statement that "[He] would rather lose the campaign than lose the war," speaks volumes.

McCain is most honorable and you can't help but love him...

  • Bill - 16 years ago

I don't think that Obama is smart enough! If were Obama , I'd go to Washingtin and get information as much as I can, get things done and offer help.
If this bail out does not go through , I bet with you, Obama and the Dems will be blamed!
McCain will benefit with a 50 state victory!

  • Roger - 16 years ago

McCain is a doer, Obama is a talker. You see clear evidence of this by todays actions. There is a clear choice that should be obvious to any fair minded, patriotic American.

  • Palease - 16 years ago

Country First? Are you kidding me.... This is the biggest political stunt ever, there are 40 days till the election which means everything is political. McCain is just gonna go disrupt the progress in passing this bill. And delaying the debate???? That is a complete cop out because Johnny doesn't understand a thing about economics, therefore his campaign doesn't want him to look like a fool in the debate and possibly save Palin from stumbling over herself more in a debate too. 87% country first???? oh my

  • Marlene Jordan Marsh - 16 years ago

This is what I have been saying all the time!!! Obama is out for Obama!!! If he does not respect our American Flag how in heavens name can he have the countrys interest at heart!!!!!
Any person that blantantly says that he would like to "change" our Star Spangled Banner Song to "I'd like to teach the world to sing" is a flat out pinhead and NO Patriot!!!!!!

  • Nancy - 16 years ago

He's putting Country first like he has ALWAYS done. Not a big fan of McCain and some of his decisions but the choice between him and Obama give me a Patriot every time!
Barney Franks is a real blow hard! He should be thrown out just like Chris Dodd and all the rest of the do nothing's including Mr. call me if you need me Obama! It's your JOB to be in Washington right now Mr. NoBama you can't do 1 job as it is! Get off your high horse and do the job you were elected to do first!

  • Doug - 16 years ago

John McCain would have been taking the same actions whether he was running for president or not.You don't get elected that many years in a row unless you were doing something right. He is a great man.I couldnt stand the thought of this country without him, whether president or not.

  • Dan - 16 years ago

Just a stunt, the deal is almost done and he is trying another instant gratification push for the polls. This issue took years to unfold, and 5 days to fix it is only a band aid. More to come

  • William Wieland - 16 years ago

Barak Obama has made a costly mistake and it will probably cost him the election

  • eddieblaine - 16 years ago

This is another example of Senator McCain's integrity and the quality of his character. He is putting country first as he has all his life.

  • Dave - 16 years ago

Yeah, I am with you! I don't really know who caused as this but the execs at fault are still going to be rich and that just makes me so darn happy since my wife just got laid off today and I am a seasonal worker, wonderful just wonderful

  • Anita Roberts - 16 years ago

This is what McCain and Palin are all about. Putting country first. GOD BLESS..

  • rhraptor - 16 years ago

Senator McCain has always been about standing up in really difficult circumstances--Hanoi Hilton being one... and he knows to "go to the matresses" one this one (to borrow from the entertainment gang who hates him!). Senator Obama can't go back to Washington to help with this, because he personally doesn't comprehend much of this, and can't really vote "Present" in the next week or so without being NOTICED NATIONWIDE for doing so.

When Obama was attending Muslim schools in Indonesia, he wrote an essay at the age of 10 stating that his goal was "to become a President." Anyone who believes that this clown would put everyday Americans before his own personal ambitions is dreaming in color.

McCain is putting the country first and is willing to fall behind in poles and even lose the election if it means fixing a crisis for our nation. Obama wants to talk about things and McCain is willing to put it all on the line, roll up his sleeves and work us all to resolve this. Some men can give a great talk, McCain doesn't talk about it, he gets in it and does something! I have less respect for Obama knowing that he is out for himself and not for all of us.

Both candidates made the right decision. Obama has nothing to contribute so he should keep campaigning. McCain has a lot to contribute so he needs to go to Washington and get the job done.
