Absolutely. The ability to drive the weapon and put rounds on target effectively with a reliable weapon is what’s important. Ever improving bullet technology makes the caliber argument irrelevant.

They all should have made this change long ago, why are we even debating this?

They should change the pistol but keep the caliber.

Not at all. The .45 caliber round is far more suited to fighting zealots and fanatical idealogues who are often on narcotics or injected adrenaline. In addition, the 1911 has a storied history and is part of the Raider tradition.
