My own family legally immigrated through the Saint Louis immigration center many generations ago. There is a legal path to immigration in place. We don't need to have k mass deportations.
But let's not invite more illegal immigration by providing safe harbour. Let's vet the immigrants already here so we can make an informed decision on how to move next. No judgement on those already here, just a vetting path so that the immigrants already here can stop looking over their shoulders. And as an added benefit, we get legitimate reason to go after the actual bad guys, most of whom will avoid any legal being process. The we can start deporting the ones who refuse the legal path offered.
