I would like to publicly apologize for my previous behavior with my comment. It was uncalled for and not right of me to say something as bad as I did. Both bands work extremely hard and both bands should be proud of their accomplishments. Harper you have a talents within you're band that are hard to come by. We have our riverary but we both cherish music and that is all that matters. I am sorry for my previous comment that was uncalled for ~Doesn't Matter MHS will always be better

Got to love High School Bands. I went to Harper Creek games and listening to the band for over 15 years! Since the Band Teacher was in band with our Daughter. Now our Grandson us Marching as a freshmen!!! I have had kids in Lakeview Marching Band in 1993, Harper in 1997- 2001 and Gull Lake in 2006 - 2010, It is always a treat!

Guys please, I love being a part of Marshall and band, but I am beginning to hate some of the members in band. This isn't a bashing competition, and honestly, it is up to whoever sits on their phone the longest voting the most. So it doesn't even mean anything. Having marched in both Harper's and Marshall's marching band, I would say it is difficult to compare both of the bands. Harper nor Marshall is the biggest or the most polished bands in the land. Harper has a relatively new program, and is working on numbers, as well as competing in festivals and competitions. Marshall's band is well established and gets great support from the community. Although Marshall's band does not go to competitions, the band is still very competitive and is geared well for concert seasons.
My Harper band people, I miss y'all.

Both bands play very well. I admire the hard work students from both schools put in for our entertainment. Harper Creek and Marshall be proud of your accomplishments. It really wasn't that long ago you were just learning to play. To go out every week, and play in front of so many others, must be nerve wrecking. C'mon guys. They're all trying. They are, for the most part, kids. And it must hurt when they read such mean-spirited sentiments. They play because they love music, love the camaraderie, and love to be a part of a team. Be nice.
Considering they took the video of Marshall during our Pre-Game and they took the video of Harper's Half-Time show I do not see how this is considered a fail poll to begin with. Marshall has an incrediable band and the video does not prove it justice. Attending one of Harper's games and listening to Harper's band the most enjoyable part was the twirler, you could hardly even hear the band. Also asking those from Harper the majority doesn't even notice their on the field. With all that said if you want a real poll then let's go face to face, band to band and have a real competition. MHS band is and have been ready for the past several years so Harper how about you step to the plate and actually say yes instead of hiding away from a true competition between the two bands!

One of the important things about becoming young adults is that we learn how to comport ourselves in public - including public social media. Comments made anonymously can still reflect poorly on the groups that posters represent and can have unintentional consequences - especially in perception.
I'm hoping that everyone on both sides can find it within themselves to keep comments positive and supportive of their groups. I'm sure that we can all represent our schools and our communities with class, just like I'm sure that not all of the comments made below are representative of each school and their band programs.

Y'all are getting way too heated about this. It's estensively a waste of time for little pay off, because what else do you get out out of it besides bragging rights?
