Offer the qualifying offer. I don't believe he'll take it this time. He'll get 60 for 4 atleast from someone. Our best year in the last 5 was '14 with Joseph. He's better defensively, and when given the chance was fine offensively. Take the draft pick. I know what's being said about Sisco's defense. I don't buy it. He'll be ready and may be huge in '17.

JR, that's what they thought last year. The O's should move on. It's hard to imagine he'll be worth that much. He's in his decline.

Make the QO. He won't accept it and will move on from the O's. We'll take the draft pick and hope for the best with whoever ends up behind the dish this year. Either way Sisco will be the catcher in 2018.

I think the Astros could be a team to play for since Jason Castro is a free agent.

If the Orioles issue Matt Weiters a qualifying offer and he accepts that alone will doom the club for 2017. Weiters is a decent catcher but not worth anything close to the qualifying offer. The team needs a #3 starting pitcher or better for their depleted rotation. There are other catchers on the market that could help as much as Weiters for one third of the cost.

The O's are deep at catcher in the minors and namely Chance Cisco could be pushed into the starting job if he's in camp and has a good spring. The O's don't need a middle of the lineup catcher. They need on-base percentage.

Catchers are not a dime a dozen. The O's have a middle of the lineup catcher on hand. It would be a mistake not to give him a qualifying offer. His past injuries shouldn't hold them back from spending the money. Keep him.
