My husband and myself have never had a flu shot. The head colds we got I feel very confident saying would not have been prevented with a flu shot. I do believe that people with weak immune systems and respiratory problems definitely benefit from flu vaccine.
The only time I've ever gotten the flu is during the winter when I've received a flu shot.
