It VERY much depends on the situation. I've been an active pro-lifer for more than 30 years, and CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING. Some people/situations benefit from pictures. Some are hurt by them. Knowing who you are talking to is key.
I do think that billboards and picket signs with no relationship are probably doing more harm than good.
