As mentioned by our respected PM new currency were being printed since last six months. As per my opinion only rs 2000 currecy were being printed. Rs 500 currency was started to be printed only after the announcement hence the delay in arrival of new rs 500 currency. Had any of the denomination, already in circulation, been printed before the announcement in such large proportion black money hoarders might have known about the demonetization beforehand through their sources in printing press. It was a top secret mission and to keep it that way rs 2000 currencies were printed that too over a long period of 6 months. Anyone with knowledge of new currencies being printed might have only thought that new currency would be introduced in the system. Hence the new rs 2000 currency.
