I will shut down and sell off my equipment if it goes through. I've been operating for the last 12 yrs under my own authority and that's another 1500 per yr that we are going to lose and cannot recap. I've had many of Dot Insp. and have never had a log book or vehicle failure or write up. Its very discriminatory regulation and either everybody uses them or those who chose to use them. Its a management tool for keeping up with large fleets. One to five trucks it is very unnecessary. Just another regulation that has nothing to do with safety. You can cheat with it just like you can a paper log. Either you obey the law or you don't. This will another 20 to 30 % more trucks on the road at the same time, and where are you going to park them when you are out of time? The owner operators that drive one truck themselves have the safety record of all the operations out there. FMCSA has out done itself and is now creating rules and regulations that is killing the industry. Small business is the back bone of this country, are we going to let it kill the industry like they've done to the farmers. Wise up people, small business is what made, and has kept our country great. When big business fails, hundreds and sometimes thousands of people lose their jobs, but when small business fails, it usually only effects a small number. This is what keeps America running and will continue to keep it great. Do we really want to crash our economics again?
