I don't believe for half a second my cell phone would take down a jet, if that was the case airlines would put cell blockers in airports and take phone from you on boarding.
Maybe the crew should inform everyone what COULD happen if you don't rather than just a request to turn your phone off . We shouldn't take that chance with peoples lives. JUST TURN OFF YOUR DAMN PHONE!!
