My son is going through a divorce this year. Rather than the usual "everything is merry" theme, I got transparent and talked about what we are learning through the happy and fun things and the very hard things. My theme was Immanuel, God with us, as He surely was all through the year. I'll let you know what people's response is. You can always take a picture when your boys are home over the holidays and make it a New Year's card. Minted does a great job and has a feature where they address them for you. They ship quick.
