I quite enjoyed this as a piece of Christmas fluff, but that's what it is......not what I would want usually. My expectations were low, I really didn't like last year's effort, so was relatively pleasantly surprised. I found it quite talky in a sentimental soapy sort of way, and would have liked more alien menace......but to be fair this felt a more easily accessible episode for non fans than of late. Felt quite UN Doctor Who like a lot of the time, which is not ideal.....but I can see it was an easy Christmas offering for the non devoted. It was ok. Looking forward to the proper series.
