Gym membership doesn't cover hospitalizatuon, medications, and doctor care. They serve different purposes so better to have both, But if I only get to choose 1 I'll pick the one that covers the biguest financial disaster--long term medical problems surgeries and emergencies. None of those 3 are covered by gym membership fees or are prevented by gym exercise. In my case, treadmill etercise induced hip and back problems for me.
