Although Carl (no relation) has never won a NASCAR championship like others in the HOF, he is a champion in the sport. He is a mentor and inspiration to those in and out of the sport and for future racers at all levels. He projected an image both in victory and defeat as to how we, both young and old, should conduct our lives.

Yea Bo, Carl was such a gentleman to his teammate Matt at Martinsville.

I don't think so.....No championships, no Daytona wins, no Indy wins, dangerous driver, too many on/off track incidents... So what if he takes his glasses off, politeness doesn't/shouldn't get you into a Hall of Fame.

Yes, but not first ballet, They should hold him until they need a headliner, he could go in two years or so it depends what they do with Gordon because he keeps climbing into cars.

YES! Carl should be in the HOF, if not for the victories, but he is one of the true gentlemen in the racing world. How many other drivers remove their sunglasses and frequently his hat, when being interviewed on television?
