Anyone who has seen 20th Century Woman should know that Annette Bening gave one of the most delightful performances I have seen in years. Substituting Meryl Streep's unecessary nomination out for her or Amy Adams is dignified. I was however pleased to see Ruth Negga get a nomination after her breakout year. And in a perfect world Greta Gerwig would've also been commended for her outstanding 2016. Long story short, 20th century woman is an exceptional film that feels like your watching a novel written in the style of a JD Salinger publication.

Silence is the best picture of the year, best director should have been Marty's, Amy Adams deserved the oscar, and hacksaw ridge was super corny. Not a bad movie, but corny. Andrew Garfield did his best in Silence. LaLa Land was good but not worthy of a best picture WIN, moonlight and Manchester outweigh LaLa Land tremendously, but all in all it's a shame that Silence was left out of the running. It is a true masterpiece. It's said to be draining and slow, but I found it to be the exact opposite. It's a shame the masses have such small attention spans and intellects. aside from all this jargon, Hell or High Water for the win.

Hugh Grant should have been in the Supporting Actor category. He was wonderful with Meryl Streep. If she's nominated, then he should have been.
