I teach at a women's college in a curriculum based on Watson's Caring Science theory with a strong basis in spirituality and social justice. Because of these threaded themes, we are able to include social justice aspects in all of our courses - ranging from ethical considerations to clinical opportunities with a variety of vulnerable populations in community setting.
Agree with your comments and observations. That is why I no longer teach any of those sorts of courses. I am fortunate (for now at least) to only teach health politics/policy and community health courses in line with your nurse manifesto ideals.
