Peoria has the best City Hall!
Pasadena has a beautiful city hall, a beautiful garden interior, and a huge plaza in front that's perfect for concerts, community events, and even our very own Women's Rally at the Rotunda!
Everyday weddings, quinceaneras and other special events are shot at Pasadena City Hall because of its beauty. I love the courtyard and the fountains and domes!

Our prized City Hall was designed by Reeves and Baillee in the German Renaissance style and dedicated in 1899. Its grand exterior is matched by a majestic interior, which is both impressive and moving. A beautiful statue in Carrara marble entitled "Love Knows No Caste" by Frederick Ernst "Fritz" Triebel dominates the lobby. This work was exhibited at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 and installed at our City Hall in 1976. At some feet behind the statue, a marble staircase rises to the floors above. Looking up from the staircase landings, visitors are treated to a beautiful decorative design from the dome overhead. The effect of the exterior structure and the interior design is both welcoming and dignified, befitting this true jewel of our community.

Peoria's City Hall sits on the grounds of the first market in the City. The original City Hall was located next door to where the current one stands. It only cost $43 to tear down the market house.

That comment about Puff Daddy made me remember a similar story in Peoria's music history, Apparently when Aerosmith and Jackyl were playing the nearby Peoria Civic Center, one of the employees who work on the first floor somewhere was the 2nd cousin of the drummer in Jackyl. After she went to the concert, she got to go backstage where Steven Tyler gave her one of those scarves that he hangs on his microphone stand. My sources tell me that the scarf is somewhere in her office in City Hall--which makes it even more beautiful! Vote Peoria!
I grew up with my father and grandfather both being masons. It was the family business. Upon moving to Peoria and visiting their City Hall I noticed the fine mason work. Their is not a finer display of craftsmanship in the US.
There are times when I really didn't want Peoria to win. But now, I see the beautiful City Hall and the amazing support of their community in a new light. GO PEORIA!

Once upon a time, I longed for my home land of Mexico. Lo, I would wander the streets of Peoria weeping at the thought of my family back home. Then, through the tears, I walked down Fulton St. and laid my eyes upon a wonderous site! PEORIA'S CITY HALL! This time, the tears were from joy. I never regretted staying here after that. I had a new home.....and the most beautiful City Hall EVER!
