I find it amusing that fans are quick to blame WD for the way this season has gone. Everyone wants to fire Benning and fire Willie but people aren't really looking at the bigger picture which is that our players just aren't good enough right now. Make fun of the sedins all you want but they are Vancouvers best players in history. Yes they've declined rapidly recently but we all knew those days would come when we signed them both into their late 30s. Fact is we have one more year with them and we should be grateful. Having the sedins as our second line next year will still be beneficial to our team. Moreover, watching horvat turn into a legitimate center has been fun to watch but fans should be more excited for next season when he may have Brock boeser as his winger. Im a little sick and tired of hearing fans complain saying we should rebuild when there is little evidence it works. Fact is we haven't drafted very well and our farm system hasn't really brought in any fantastic players latsly.
So what does this mean? We need to be patient. Once the sedins have gone our team will truly transform and we will be into a new era, a bo horvat era who looks to be the next Ryan Kesler.
Let's give Benning some more time. He finally made two great trades so maybe he's turning a corner, as far as Willie goes maybe we do need to change it up but I don't think any of the blame should be on him. Now if a huge name coach became available and would sign here that's something interesting that I could get behind...

I have been patient, but I am now totally sick and tired of Willie D. Really liked him. But He obviously can't handle a top prospect or young player with swagger or "attitude" or actual talent... only likes plugs and grinders, like he was... and the WAY overrated, way past their prime sisters. Whining at $14 million ! They should be ashamed. And apologize for mailing it in this season with their overrated $6m !!?? dud friend Eriksson, whom they lobbied for . .. So many fans like me, who used to follow the Canucks every day for well over 20 years are disinterested. Why ? Because they RUIN good young players, with a coach that seems so afraid of failure that he has turned a team with some decent possibilities, into a REAL drag to watch... Goldy, Virtanan, Boucher, McCann for the all talk not tough no action D plug Gubby... etc... etc... give me a break !! Fire the clown, yesterday
