An email alerting the community about the poll coincided with the surge in that student-athlete's vote. Since the poll is non-binding on the award, suspect that's exactly what the paper would hope for--more eyes on their paper. Being a four-time section champion, state champion, and senior headed to Harvard is a fabulous example of a student-athlete, might have helped, too.

I just wanted to point out the this polling program is flawed and non-secure.
With very little effort I was able to vote for the same wrestler twice in a matter of minutes with very little effort.
I mention this because it came to my attention that yesterday morning one of the boys listed miraculously received almost 1000 votes overnight. I believe someone else has discovered the flaw in the poll and is exploiting it.
