Many businesses, including mine, made decisions based on their dire forecast. For them to intentionally mislead the public, and let's not mince words, they INTENTIONALLY misled us, the person making that decision should lose their job.

Just give us the facts so we can make our own determinations , The NWS is becoming like the rest of the mainstream media , I know what's best for myself , I don't need someone else making decisions for me. Just give me the facts !!!!!!

    FAKE NEWS?

The National Weather Service's 'head honcho' that was mentioned in the article should be fired! It's one thing to not be sure of a forecast, but quite another to purposely withhold information.
My trip was ruined because of the governments misinformation.

What are we, children who can't be told the truth about the weather??!! Actually, I don't take the predictions too seriously and am always surprised that most people do! Seems like they're often inaccurate. I did hear from one source that the storm had moved west enough to lessen the impact to Long Island....I can't remember where that information came from.

I made a business decision based on their forecast which cost me thousands of dollars. As a single mom, I'm furious.

It was bad enough, with the ice. But still, sick and tired of being herded like sheep by the government with their lying media. I want complete honesty from the media. Although, people shopped and that is good for local business.

Cmon folks better safe than sorry . As all storm projections and forecast are always proceeded by meteorologists that any change in direction and speed
Could change the outcome. Hey central Pennsylvania received 30 inches of snow .

How about " Tell me the truth" and I'll decide how to plan my day!
This is what happens when the Federal Government get too much power --- "they know what's best for us plebeians" and generally people accept it --- it's the "dumbing down of America".

I'd rather be over-warned than under-warned. Plain and simple. Plus, cut them some slack people, these weather systems are pretty tricky sometimes. The depend a lot on the surrounding atmosphere. They were saying all day that if it took a more westward track, Suffolk county could see a lot less snow and more of a mix. Obviously, it did exactly that, and I even knew that was a definite possibility. Bottom line is, never take chances when it comes to the weather, because it doesn't give you a second one if you screw up.

I would prefer to know the true forecast. I believe most people realize that ice is just as dangerous and would take the same precautions. Can we believe future forecasts?

I think this was totally wrong because a lot of businesses lost a lot of money because they had to close down

This is what they did with Sandy. They didn't say what the surge was and our local politicians didn't understand what it was. We (community) lost a lot from misinformation. Thanks! Again!
