I loved the last last episode, especially when Schmidt and Cece found out they were pregnant! I cried so much when nick and jess missed each other trying to tell each other how they feel I felt so warm and fuzzy inside. Jay-Day and Nick back foreverrrrrr

It is possible that I will literally start a protest if this show is cancelled. We need atleast 2 more seasons. The ending of season 6 really made me love Schmidt and Nick's relationship. Winston has to have a weird wedding and I need to see Nick and Jess be real and mature and not fumble all over their feelings for once. I can't wait.

I have been watching this show for years, and I have really been enjoying rewatching it (twice since season 6 finished). I love how the characters grow and change. There was a remark in the interview about Nick being the most changed, but I think all the characters have. Winston went from this overconfident kind of closed off sports guy that used women to a very genuine person that is in love and wears bird shirts. Schmidt, I mean goes without saying as it was discussed in the interview. Cece grew up and is beginning to realize her potential and is going to be a mom. Nick probably has changed the most and Jess has changed the least in my opinion. Jess is the catalyst in these people's lives that helps them feel safe and free to be themselves, while helping them see the best parts of themselves. So for her to have been with this group for so long and affected the growth of so many people, it was nice to see her get a real win in getting back together with Nick. Especially since the first time they weren't supposed to be together. I think the last season was pretty thoughtful in putting Nick with Reagan as well, because it showed Nick growing up within that relationship. I love how desperate the relationship made Jess and how it pushed Nick into realizing how much he needed Jess. When he tells her dad "Jess is like a compass and a flashlight and with her there I know everything will be okay." Honestly I have never heard anything quite so beautiful on the show. I just loved it. As I mentioned, I am about to complete my second re watch of the series from the last week. I was taken aback by the ending of season 6 beforehand, but now- it all just makes sense. It is pretty carefully thought out and the timing is perfect. I definitely need a 7th season, if I don't get it- I'll be heartbroken for sure.

Donny Louise I agree with you a lot. I love this show from the beginning. I watched all the episodes. And I rewatched first three seasons, again. These are the best seasons, I love them so much. And the show was so different. Every episod of season 1-3 was funny, natural, believable and I remember how much I fell in love with all the characters. Then the show was still very very good till season 5, I guess. Season six wasn´t so bad but suddenly the show started to change in a very weird direction.
The end of season six... well, I liked it, I liked it because i really really wanted Nick and Jess to be together. I believe it wouldn´t make much sense if they didn´t end up together. But why was it such an insta love? They really didn´t spend much time together in this season and not even in the last episode when suddenly they clame to love each other in few last minutes. This relationship between Jess and Nick was not prepared very well since season six at least. Also why putting Megan Fox in to the show?! She so doesn´t fit in and to me she isn´t even good actress, she´s like a barbie with no talent, her expression did not change the whole time. I don´t know what to think about this show right now. I loved Jess so much for how naturally funny and weird she was. I could relate to her so often. But now almost every joke that was to come from her mouth was so not funny or so static sometimes I even expeted her to say or do almost exactly what she did.
I think that I really need season seven. I would be very happy to have a chance to see some more of this story. But I think that the creators of this show should also rewatch first few seasons and see the difference themselfs. I wish they do this and try to go a bit back to how naturally funny and good all the characters were.
I think there is a lot to think about before starting with a new season, there is a lot to be changed and fixed. But the show is still good so I hope they won´t cancel it just yet.

I have to say this was an awful end to by far the worst season of the show, and if it is the series finale, that's an insult to their loyal fan base like myself.

It wasn't so much that this was a bad episode, it was that they should have done this 5 episodes ago and built up a suspenseful and more meaningful reconciliation, but instead we got the 22 minute mop up.

I am not sure if dragging out the Reagan character was just a ratings grab but they could have cut the chord on that relationship mid season and actually rebuild the chemistry between Nick and Jess, because right now I feel zero human connection between them and everything feels so rushed and forced.

This may have something to do with a bigger criticism I have of the show; that being how they've written Jess from a relatable character to a one dimensional caricature who delivers nothing but static one liners followed by the same chuckle. Similarly, Nick has been turned into a full fledged moron. I realize characters need to evolve over the course of shows but for these two it has definitely been for the worse. I just dont buy them as a couple, especially on Jess's end of things, and felt they shared no real moments throughout the season.

I'd like to see them do a season 7 just to attempt this again and get it right. Assuming most of you reading this have seen the show from the beginning, I encourage you to try rewatching the earlier seasons where you'll see a much more relatable and funny show......I stayed loyal to this series and feel pretty ripped off,but will always have a place for New Girl.
