Zayn for sure. Pillowtalk was unique and authentic. You can tell it's a ZAYN song. Despite all the sabotage by media and hate towards him from his former fans and gp, Pillowtalk shouldn't have made it at all. It wasn't even promoted and no hype at all. But it still made it and became iconic without a live performance. Zayn made his own lane, he didn't follow anyone's path. Every song on MOM is impressive and authentic. His vocals are out of this world. Very underrated artist.

Zayn went straight up R&B. So to say that his music is more authentic is complete and utter B/S. Zayns music sounds just like all the other crap that gets airplay everyday. No distinction whatsoever.
Now Harry on the other hand went completely new and original for this day and age anyway. He may have taken inspiration from our rock legends but he took those ideas and mashed them all together in a blender together and in doing so came up with his own creation in that mystical mind of his.
Even Nialls song was more creative and different than zayns in my opinion. Different than his 1D background and going acoustic and soft, I like it way better than any of zayns material.
Zayns pillowtalk was probably by far my favorite of his and that was a stretch and took some registers to get there. His collaboration with swift in my opinion was a mistake. Come on zayn. Out of all the female artists to choose from and you choose her. Just No! Hated it.
Louis, I liked it. I thought it was good. It just took a minute to get past him collabing with someone other than his Bros. But it was alright.
But by far with all this said and done the answer is clear that it's Harry that should take the crown of course. He blows everyone out of the water just on pure talent alone before we even look at the creativity of the song.
They all have made solid efforts to establish their own lanes, but zayn is the most obvious authentic artist. Sign of the Times is derivative and is lending itself to heavily to the previous works of artists before Harry. It's a clever usage of those works, but loaning a Prince lyric for the strap line although creates a hit doesn't make you responsible for it.
