The pretense of "The Voice" is suppose to be a person's voice & their ability for the people listening to hear and enjoy that tool; a voice. Dancing, attire, hairstyles, makeup, weight, gender, humor, and other factors may make a person an entertainer but that entertainer may not have a "voice"; the ability to actually sing.
When you are voting make sure that you choose someone who actually has a voice. Don't be distracted by their age, looks, antics on stage, or anything but their voice. Choose a person who actually has the ability to sing on key, not flat or sharp, and that can have great volume but control.
I can't stand it when all of these singers scream a note at me (sorry but usually women or men in falsetto). I also hate it when a singer changes a tune so much that you can't identify the song or if you do it's just due to a couple of stanzas. Choose a person who can make a song thier own but that you can realize what song they are singing so you know if they are goofing up.
Most of all, listen. If you're following the singer all the way through the song without losing interest ,or they leave you wanting more, then you're probably looking at a person with a real voice, not some gimic.
