I suspect Victor hired Scott (with his excellent background) to track down any and all traces of Adam and keep him appraised of his whereabouts while he figures out how to bring him back without a bulls eye on his back (Chloe is NOT dead). . Also, Victor is trying to exonerate his son and find out who really did kill Delia.

Except for a few conveniently placed scraps of DNA, a body was never found. No charred remains with dentals for comparison. Poof! Gone! If anybody can make heads or tails of this, it's The Puppetmaster extraordinaire par excellence pulling yet another hat trick! Welcome back Michael Muhney!
