I was spoilt for choice but voted "spacehopper" as I remember that brought more "joint" fun as my 3 sisters also had one each too & we didnt just bounce/race on them, we used to hold them by the horns & swing them to bash each other too. Oh what memories of the fun we had "yesteryear." ;-)
Thought Lego was the all time favourite. Was for me and still is !!
It would be lovely to have tiny tears doll.
Would love to have seen the classic 'Chopper Bike ' from the '70's
Actually, I think it is quite a good selection, and as I was going through them they brought back lovely memories. Even better is the fact that I was with my Mum at the time of going through them so we were able to reminisce together. I suppose the problem is that everyone will remember different toys that will have a special meaning to them.
I agree a very poor choice of the "top 10".
Obvious missing contenders; Lego, Scalextic, Matchbox, HotWheels and Barbie. Others include; Slinky, Play-Doh, Newton's Cradle and others!
What a poor choice, and in my opinion past the classic higher quality of toy. But an number of what I remember as 'naff' trashy plastic toys, not like the quality 1950's, only Meccano & Hornby OO represent the toys I enjoyed, but what was distinctly absent were first Dinky Toys, cars etc models, and later Corgi and Matchbox. In those days girls had less toys, but they may have had a number of dolls etc. The Meccano model shown is top of the range, Catherine wheel, where I had a lesser set(s) which were equally as good, infact super good. Also, a building plastic/metal rod method; "Brick -'something' ", okay less known. And there were also miniature bricks and a kind of actual cement, may be it was flour and water, but very sticky.
