I have had my daith pierced for about a year now. I do not experience the head pain of the migraine but i still sometimes get the nausea and headache but more manageable.
I had the daith piercing 3 months ago. I am now 66 yrs. old and have had migraines all my adult life and maybe a few times as a child. At minimum I get two migraines per month and have gone through a period where I had one or two daily overlapping migraines and the pain was constant. This went on for a year or more. With the migraine I also experience nausea and/or vomiting. They are triggered by oncoming storms, certain fragrances, bright light, inadequate sleep, and when my neck is in a flair (2 auto crashes-whiplash have left my neck less than normal).
At this point in time it appears that in the 3 month period I have had only one headache, not the minimum of 6 and it was short lived controlling it with my usual medication which is sometimes not the case. I also take a prophylactic once per day. I have noticed several headaches after prolonged computer use but this can be expected due to my neck issues. The change is that they would normally be migraines.
The only negative thing I wish to advise is that I did have quite an infection about two weeks after the piercing. I was on an antibiotic for 10 days and things are fine, although it is still in the healing process. So, it does take time and care but if I continue to experience these results I will be quite pleased with the outcome of this "daith piercing" and would recommend it to anyone that suffers from migraine headache.
Best of success if you choose to give this a chance.
I would consider the daith piercing if my migranes came back but for now i take a preventative medication called pizotefen which has made a huge difference! I used to get a migrane at least weekly for a couple of days duration and then when it was over there would be the prolonging hum for a good 24 hours after, at that point at least i knew i was on the mend. But now I'll get one occasionally every 6 months maybe and nowhere near as intense as before. So I'm o e of the lucky ones xx
I was suffering migraines every week (at least 1)and every weekend ...it was starting to get to the point where I dreaded the weekends and it was spoiling plans I had...one Saturday I was suffering..so despite this..I went and got my right daith pierced....it was very painful....but...I have to say...(touch wood) sine having it done I have had 1 bad migraine..but was able to manage it with my medication within a few hours...I would recommend anyone that suffers migraines to try a daith piercing..after all...a few minutes pain COULD end the years of pain migraines can cause! ????
I am 25 i have had migraines daily since i was 12 i heard about this piercing yesterday and was told all about it and said i would give it a try got it done today i will update you all on how it goes! Fingers crossed! :)
I had both ears pierced by Shawn (piercingsbyshawn in Bakersfield, CA) June 5, 2016 and I went from 3-4 migraines a WEEK down to 1 (ONE) in a YEAR!!! I learned about migraine relief from daith piercing from my niece, and was willing to try anything. I was in my 2nd day of a migraine and I was at the "I will do anything" for relief, called my niece to get Shawn's phone number(I was not aware Shawn had a Facebook page) made my appointment & my migraine was gone immediately after Shawn had pierced my daith. I chose to have both ears done. I had an extremely stressful day right before my 1 year anniversary of "Daith Piercing and No Migraine" and had 1 (ONE) mild migraine, but I am happy to share with everyone daith piercing is working for me. I have tried EVERY Migraine medicine out on the market as of June 5, 2016 and nothing (ZIP, ZERO, NOTHING) worked. Besides, there are no "side effects" that come with daith piercing. If you don't have any relief after trying this(even applying pressure like an acupuncture Dr would do, just take out whatever you chose to be used, "bar bell, round ring, etc." and the hole will close up. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
