Do you agree with how the Packers showed unity during the national anthem before the game against the Bears?

My thoughts are not so focused on whether they sit, stand with arms locked or with hand over heart. This particular form of protest is just not having the desired effect. That happens sometimes to messages that are meant to change public opinion (does anyone remember the commercial "this is your brain - an egg - and this is your brain on drugs - an egg frying)? From what I've seen so far, the NFL players, etc. are only dividing America more; not bringing us to a common goal of equality.

Rogers, what a dissapointment. No longer someone my grandkids can look up to. Packers had a choice, the high road or the low road and they chose the low road.
These over paid thugs should put on a real uniform and see what its like to fight for the flag and country.
A total insult to all of us who served. One can only hope the sponsers and fans will start boycoting this team too. Its also time to stop using any tax payers dollars for a private busniss like the NFL. check out the NFL hand book and it states they must stand! They break their own rules for this PC crap. Dallas was not allowed to honor police. Time for NFL to fail. Also time to burn my Packer crap.

The kneeling really bothered me, but tonight when I watched, the players, black and white, stood united arms entwined with some of them with their hand on their hearts, I felt better. United we stand. I am 76 years old and grew up in a time when we said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning at school, and we learned to stand at attention with our hand on our heart when the Anthem was played or sang. I super respected the fellows with their hand in their ❤️. I love seeing people of all colors United. I very patriotic lady. I hope people don’t hate on me, but I was not happy with the kneeling.

While America often talks of "freedoms" that are guaranteed to all its citizens and legal residents, the fact is these freedoms are not equally shared by everyone. America is a country that is afraid to look at itself in the mirror. Inequality is written all over -- whether it be based on race or gender or otherwise. Under Trump some of these inequalities have come to the fore acutely and therefore so much noise about them. Terming the decision to kneel or lock arms while singing the anthem as being an insult to the flag or to veterans is absurd. We are quick to find fault with North Korea or Iran or Venezuela while a lot of injustice takes place in our own compound -- and we prefer to ignore it. I think it is time for every patriot to stand with the players in their nonviolent demand for justice -- not for themselves -- but for the voiceless who continue to be oppressed in the so called First World. Only then will the flag's true meaning shine.

They keep this "unity" crapola up and they will forever be known as the Green Bay Weenies.

The NFL is so wrong. They forget the red stripe is for the BLOOD of all the military has shed since the Revolutionary war. Worse yet when a player who is a veteran stands for the flag is thrown under the bus by his coach and fellow players. A soldier would never throw another under a bus. I have no respect for the NFL or NBA just look at the moral character them. The real heroes are the people who will turn off their TV's and do something with their families. Love or hate Trump the owners are afraid of the players because they're all rich fools like are Congress and it's all about the money

Locking arms like Rockettes does not reach the perfection of standing hand over heart. If NFL is going to claim patriotism, then kneeling is not an option. Otherwise go full on Hollywood and quit the pretense of patriotism.

Patriotism is what makes the NFL special, community ownership is what makes the Packers America's team.

I suspect neither of you are African American. But then neither am I.

However, I understand the reason behind the silent, eloquent protest, which I wholeheartedly support.

All people, regardless of color, religion or creed, should be supporting this movement.

How sad that you would even think this effort has anything to do with disrespecting the flag, veterans or America in general.

It's a statement about inequality and injustice.

They are using the flag and anthem to make political points, however they want to spin it. Disgraceful. What are their policy goals? What do they want to accomplish? They can't even tell you. What I see is a bunch of elites berating Jill and Joe Blow, who make $30,000 a year, for not making the players lives more comfortable. And Aaron Rodgers takes the biggest hit. He defends players' right to speech while criticizing fans for their speech. I will never again buy a product he endorses.

Just play football. Do your protesting outside the game.
